Hello hello, readers!!
How are you??? HERE’S MY FIRST REVIEW AFTER THIS BREAK!!! I truly am in love with the book I’m talking to you about.
Author: Rick Riordan
Series: Percy Jackson #1
Publisher: Disney Hyperion
Date: June 1st 2005
Percy Jackson is about to be kicked out of boarding school… again. And that’s the least of his troubles. Lately, mythological monsters and the gods of Mount Olympus seem to be walking straight out of the pages of Percy’s Greek mythology textbook and into his life. And worse, he’s angered a few of them. Zeus’ master lightning bolt has been stolen, and Percy is the prime suspect.
Now Percy and his friends have just ten days to find and return Zeus’ stolen property and bring peace to a warring Mount Olympus. But to succeed on his quest, Percy will have to do more than catch the true thief: he must come to terms with the father who abandoned him; solve the riddle of the Oracle, which warns him of betrayal by a friend; and unravel a treachery more powerful than the gods themselves.
I’ve read this book to get out of a crazy reading slump after reading ACOMAF, and I just really enjoyed it and had so much fun.
I feel like Rick Riordan really knows how to write descriptions. I could really imagine the gods – gigantic, majestic, shiny – . He made everything look so real, that Icould perfectly picture it.
It definetely made me laugh, I sometimes laughed so hard that I felt my abs hurting lol.
My favorite part is when they get to the Lotus Hotel, and they just stay there, freaking out and having soooo much fun. That was definetely fun.
And, even though I had already watched the film several times, I REALLY KEPT GUESSING HOW WOULD IT END! And I personally liked far more the book than the movie. (I’ll talk about that soon). And yes, this is definitely a really good pageturner.
My favorite character was Annabeth. She is such an empowering famale icon… I TRULY LOVE HER. There was a moment, at the beginning where percy was like “Where’s your father?” and then Annabeth starts telling him that her father is a mortal and suddenly “What? You assume it has to be a male god who finds a human female attractive? How sexist is that?” AND I JUST LOVE HER SHE IS SO GOOOOOOOD.
I found Percy to be a really important character in this story, and I realy felt like I wanted to get to know him more.
To sum up, this is a really good book, I find it to be really well written. I recommend it to anyone who really wants to have fun while reading.
Overall, I rate this book with:
And that is all! I hope you really enjoyed this review and I also hope you stick here for the nect ones!!!!
Enjoy the reading! Love you always:
