Harry Potter can’t wait for his holidays with the dire Dursleys to end. But a small, self-punishing house-elf warns Harry of mortal danger awaiting him at Hogwarts. Returning to the castle nevertheless, Harry hears a rumour about a Chamber of Secrets, holding unknown horrors for wizards of Muggle parentage. Now someone is casting spells that turn people to stone, and a terrible warning is found painted on the wall. The chief suspect – always in the wrong place – is Harry. But something much more terrifying has yet to be unleashed.

opinion

First of all, I’d like to say that I didn’t quite enjoy the first half of the book. I don’t know why but I was bored most of the time during the first 150 pages. But that doesn’t mean it wasn’t well written or anything like that, au contraire, I loved how J.K. Rowling explains Herbology Class and other little details we didn’t got to know in the last book. And somehow, I feel like the lack of action kind of blew me away. But yesterday, while I was in bed trying not to die of my sickness, I felt like reading and within two or three hours I finished the book.

After those first 150 pages, I felt totally gripped into the story and I had to finish, on the right hand because I was needing the time to read something else, and on the other hand because Carve The Mark had just arrived, and I was super excited about finishing this one and starting the next one. I love how they (Ron and Harry) kind of always need Hermione, and I worship that because, you know, GIRL POWER.

One of my favourite moments of ths book is Moaning Myrtle’s story about how she died, it’s just super fun because she is super exagerated. “Ooooh, it was dreadful.” I mean, isn’t it hilarious? At least I LOLd soooo much. By the way, I really feel like J.K. Rowling knows how to mantain suspense and create action scenes. I loved the continuous mistery about who was the Slytherin heir and all speculations about the beast. Also, I want to know more about Percy’s relationship!!!!

And I think my favorite characters are Moaning Myrtle, Dobby and Ginny Weasley. (and obviously Draco, as always.) Ginny because she is just amazing, strong as a beast and fun like hell. Moaning Myrtle because duh, she is hilarious. And I don’t think I have to explain why I love Dobby (he is cute AF).
